Eley Hawk are proud to have sponsored 3rd Battalion The Parachute Regiment Clay shooting team with 5,000 cartridges for their latest clay shooting wins – they won the following categories - Best in the inter unit competition, best infantry unit, best infantryman and high gun for the day in class. With sterling performances by the whole team. Overall the team finished second on the team event scoring 443 out of 500. Eley Hawk congratulate the team on their fantastic performance.
3 PARA were shooting a cartridge that Eley Hawk specifically designed for them including Para maroon cartridges, the box was designed to include the famous Airborne forces logo of Bellerophon mounted on the winged horse Pegasus and the wings and parachute cap badge. Speaking about the cartridges David Thompson, Eley Hawk’s Marketing Manager, said, “It was a privilege to be asked to provide and load these for the clay shooting team of 3 PARA. They asked us to provide cartridges for them to shoot and we decided that given they do so much to serve the country we would go the extra mile and load them a specific cartridge in honour of their service.”
Major Jo Scrivener who is the team captain for 3 Para Clay Shooting team was delighted with the cartridges supplied. “We were really pleased to get a dedicated load from Eley Hawk, they really pulled out all the stops to provide a cartridge we could be proud to shoot. Certainly having it branded up made it a genuine piece of Parachute Regiment kit and the lads were chuffed to bits when they got them to shoot with. It was a real testimony to the regard The Parachute Regiment is held in.”
Eley Hawk made a few extra cartridges in the run and in partnership with Holts Auctioneers, are willing to auction off 250 cartridges in aid of the Game Keepers welfare trust at the Charity shoot Holts are running on the Sandringham estate by permission of the Queen.
A further 500 cartridges will be made available to the Support Our Paras charity to auction at an event of their choosing to raise valuable funds to provide support to serving and retired paratroopers.
